Engiya Guest House is a traditional Japanese townhouse, conveniently located near tourist sites such as Matsumoto castle, Nakamachi & Nawate Street.
Matsumoto station is just a short walk from us too. In this neighborhood, you'll not only find historical sites, but a number of museums, local restaurants, cafes and shops, environment of lush greenery and water courses and more.
Being based at a Japanese house means that you will be exploring classical Japanese culture. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 8 persons with a spacious living/dinning area, fully equipped kitchen and 4 x bedroom.
Relax around the sunken open fireplace and feel an authentic Japanese experience . With a beautiful Japanese zen gardens, your stay will be a memorable one.

Engiya Guest House was originally built by a famous architect from Kyoto with a traditional architectural style of "sukiya zukuri ". Using a variety of different styles of woodwork, the rich, warm tones perfectly complement the traditional design and tatami flooring found throughout the house.

Upon making your reservation we ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit. - Final Payment
We ask that the balance is paid up to 30 days prior to your arrival. It can be paid by bank transfer or credit card payment via Paypal. Note there is a 4 % service charge when paying by Credit Card. - Cancellation policy
Over 30 days deposit is forfeited. Less than 30 days 50% refund. Less than 48 hours all funds are forfeited.

Take the Chuo expressway as far as the Okaya Junction then turn off onto the Nagano expressway. Follow this as far as Matsumoto. Approximately 15 min drive from there.
